Other offerings

There are many ways to enjoy your time at Numbi Valley, both on the farm and in the surrounding areas. The farm is close to many outdoor activities like visits to the world famous Cango Caves, driving the dramatic Swartberg Pass to the little town of Prince Albert where you can find delicious gourmet lunches, a short drive from the farm is the magical Meiringspoort and its waterfall. There are some great mountain bike rides from the farm, walks in the hills and horse back riding at a neighboring farm. We can provide additional details should you need more ideas of what to see in the area.

There are many options for things to do on the farm as well, you can choose to order an Organic fruit and veggie basket freshly picked from the gardens to cook with during your stay, a pizza night, trigger point massage, yoga, an outdoor fire-bath and a permaculture tour, please let us know if you would like to include any of these additional services in your booking.

Organic Fruit and Veggie Baskets

Order a fresh basket of our beautiful organic seasonal fruits and veggies. Each basket is picked based on what is fresh and ripe on that day ensuring the best fruits and veggies make it to your table. Baskets can be picked up at Numbi Valley or delivered in the area.

Permaculture Farm Tours

Take a walk around the gardens with Kathryn or Ross for an explanation of how the land has been transformed from a degraded Ostrich farm devoid of diverse life to an abundant life-filled diverse system. Interesting aspects such as organic vegetable gardening, permaculture, olive oil production, solar power, drip irrigation, sustainable natural building techniques and the use of chicken tractors will be illustrated and discussed. The tour will take approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Local Market Goods

Also available are a variety of local products such as preserves, dried fruit, herbs, honey, eggs, pickles, olives and olive oil. There are no preservatives added and we use solar cookers and solar drying as much as possible.

Yoga

Yoga classes are held in the inspiring cob constructed studio building on the peaceful farm with views to the Swartberg Mountain Range and the Olifants River Valley. Private or scheduled weekly group classes are offered.

Massage Therapy

Take care of yourself with a Trigger Point Massage. Kathryn is a certified Trigger Point Massage Therapist and will conduct the massage in the beautiful cob studio using organic olive oil that is grown and produced at Numbi Valley. Complete your wellness journey and experience the benefits of an outdoor herb infused Fire Bath. The bath must be arranged at least 2 hours in advance and is an additional R100.

Fire Bath

A fire-bath is an enamel bath with a fire directly under it used to heat the water and then to maintain a hot bath for an extended period. Herb teas and epson salts are added for the health boost they can impart. Intermittent cold showers stimulate the positive effects and allow you to extend the time you can spend enjoying the occasion. The cob and reed structure add to the pleasure you can derive from this outdoor experience and is easily enjoyed by two people.

At least 2 hour notice is required for us to prepare this pampering ritual.

Wood Fired Oven Pizzas

Book a pizza night and enjoy a fresh wood fired pizza under the starry Karoo skies. Pizzas are hand made, the bases are prepared on the day of firing them and we use ingredients from the farm gardens. Pizzas are prepared in the wood fired oven just outside your cottage.

Firewood

Purchase sustainably harvested dry Acacia firewood for the outdoor firepit, there are grids and tongs available for use. There is a wonderful indoor fireplace in the cottage lounge for those chilly Klein Karoo nights.
